Job Summary: The UREC Graphic Design Assistant will provide design, technical, and production support for a variety of promotional materials for University Recreation. Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting with the layout, design, and editing of print and digital publications, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, posters, postcards, newsletters, signage and forms for University Recreation. Preparation of all artwork for print. Assisting with organizing and staging photo shoots for marketing materials. Assisting with planning and development of marketing campaigns for various UREC departments and programs. Requirements: The successful applicant will have some previous experience with graphic design, demonstrated interpersonal, communication and public relations skills, as well as strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet stated deadlines. Must be self-motivated and able to work cooperatively as a part of the marketing team.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Some previous graphic design experience and/or relevant coursework Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, InDesign, and Illustrator) Direct experience with final preparation and packaging of print materials Must be enrolled and continuing as a full-time or part-time student at The University of Alabama for the 2019-2020 academic year

Preferred Qualifications: Applicants able to make minimum 1 academic year employment commitment strongly preferred


Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
