Job Summary: The Custodian performs routine manual work in housekeeping and cleaning of interior spaces and immediate exterior areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, polishes and dusts furniture, and cleans restrooms, windows, blinds, mirrors, etc. in buildings across campus.


Additional Department Summary: The University of Alabama Student Center is the “community center” for The University of Alabama. The Student Center hosts programs, provides services, and maintains facilities to enhance the campus life experience for students and others in the University community. The Student Center is a 300,000+ sq. ft., multi-purpose facility including a 1,000+ seat capacity ballroom, a 400+ seat theater, 21 meeting rooms, a food court, Crimson Catering (University catering department), numerous office spaces, SUPEstore (University bookstore), Mail Center, full-service bank, copy and print center, and multiple lounge spaces.

Nights, weekends, and some holidays are required. Weekend shifts may be on a rotating schedule. Completes required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
