Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.
Additional Department Summary: The Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Department at The University of Alabama is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral position for research working with Dr. Moradkhani. The position will be embedded in the Center for Complex Hydrosystems Research. The initial appointment will be for one year and upon the availability of funding.
Conducts innovative and applied research on food-energy-water nexus with particular attention to integrating Remote Sensing and Crop models for Yield Estimation. Uses computational modeling, operations research, and a wide range of in-situ and remotely-sensed data, analytical and statistical tools/methods to crop modeling. Leads and contributes in writing scientific papers, technical reports and present research results.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate. Additional qualifications based on assignment.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Candidates with research background in hydrology, civil engineering, geoscience or a closely related field and demonstrated relevant experience in pre-doctoral research will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in model calibration and validation. Background in statistical analysis and machine learning.
