Job Summary: The Business Systems Analyst II documents, installs, analyzes, and/or maintains operating system(s) used for the business purpose of assigned area that are complex, critical to University mission, and/or utilized by mulitiple areas outside of the home organization. Provides technical support and training to users concerning system software and utilities. Serves as subject matter expert for system. Serves as liaison to the central Office of Information Technology (OIT) for advanced support needs.


Additional Department Summary: Manages the Housing and Residential Communities information systems as well as assessment, development, and implementation of various relational database technology. Provides oversight of technical support for the department and report development.

Completes required training that is related to laws and regulations, that creates a more hospitable and respectful workplace, and safer work environment.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree; OR bachelor's degree and two (2) years of IT system analysis or administration experience; OR associate's degree and four (4) years of IT experience to include two (2) years of IT system analysis or administration; OR High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of IT experience to include two (2) years of IT system analysis or administration.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Experience or knowledge in using SQL and other report writing tools.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with users of varying degrees of technical ability and understanding.

Effective time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Advanced knowledge with Microsoft applications.

Understand system testing and production environments. Working knowledge of processes and interfaces.

Ability to continuously learn new technologies and skills. Ability to identify needed data and information. Ability to interpret, communicate, and utilize university policies and procedures in analysis/reporting.

Demonstrates commitment to supporting all students.


Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of experience in using SQL and other report writing tools. Experience in Office 365 applications with the ability to troubleshoot and advise on software and hardware needs and issues.

Creative, but technical problem solver: quick thinking and fully engaged at all points in the solution from strategy to support. Inquisitive. Interested in future technologies and software, including areas of AI. Strong resourcefulness; a self-starter with analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
