Normal Work Schedule: Varies, based on needs of the clinic. Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; limited evenings/weekends


Job Summary: The MRI Technologist completes all MRI procedures. Screens and positions patients. Selects proper coil and protocol. Starts IV lines for injection. Uses power injectors. Administers contrast materials under physician supervision. Produces quality images for radiologist interpretation.


Additional Department Summary: Provides diagnostic patient care services using MRI and related diagnostic equipment and procedures. Works directly with patients and physicians and operates MRI equipment. Explains the MRI procedure to patients. Evaluates images for technical quality and presents images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team. Maintains patient records and medical notes related to the MRI procedure.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Graduate from a Radiology educational program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Registered Technologist with Magnetic Resonance Imaging Designation (R.T.(MR)(ARRT)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or able to obtain within six (6) months of hire.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to perform MRI services as directed by a physician, nurse practitioner, or other qualified medical professional. Knowledge of safety practices concerning the various energies associated with MRI. Ability to present information clearly and professionally throughout the patient care process. Knowledge/experience with electronic health record systems. Proficiency in the use of standard computer application software.
Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Desire to exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient/staff interactions. Willingness to learn and consistently deliver patient-centered, high-quality customer service. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of protected health information and follow HIPAA regulations at all times. Punctual and reliable, ability to work extended hours as needed during busier clinic times.


Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with electronic health record systems and PACS systems. Previous experience with Siemens MRI Scanners, Phillips MRI Scanners and GE MRI Scanners is greatly preferred. Previous experience with power injectors for the administration of I.V. contrast.
