Job Summary: The Creative Media Producer and Editor II produces a variety of visual storytelling content for the University through creative, digital, and traditional media under moderate supervision to promote and publicize the university, its entities, and administrators to all stakeholders with a particular focus on university branding, storytelling, and recruitment and retention of students. Creates, manages, and executes visual storytelling productions for high-visibility projects tied to the University's strategic vision. Works directly with clients to review and approve projects and prepare them for deployment. May provides training or guidance to entry-level Creative Media Producer and Editors.
Additional Department Summary: Shoots and edits visual storytelling content for internal and external platforms. Develops and executes social media productions aligned with the objectives of the Division of Strategic Communications. Displays an in-depth knowledge and understanding of web and social media platforms and how to utilize video content on each. Understands all current video software including Adobe Creative Suite.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in broadcast communication, telecommunication and film, journalism, or graphic design and two (2) years of broadcast, multimedia production, communications, and/or media relations experience; OR master's degree in broadcast communication, telecommunication and film, journalism, or graphic design and some broadcast, multimedia production, communications, and/or media relations experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
This position may work nights and/or weekends.
Skills and Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of professional video equipment and software recognized as industry standards including Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Final Cut and Audition. An understanding and working knowledge of social media platforms using video and how to effectively communicate using these platforms. In-depth knowledge of storytelling, cinematography and lighting. Highly creative.
