Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; some evenings/weekends for program coordination/support as needed.


Job Summary: The Graduate Medical Education Coordinator oversees graduate medical student curriculum and other program activities for the Psychiatry Residency Program at the College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS). Facilitates orientation, onboarding, scheduling, and evaluations for Residents and Fellows. Collaborates with Residency Director and College leadership to facilitate the overall development, implementation, and sustainability of the program. Reviews and maintains all programmatic, institutional, and regulatory agency requirements to ensure compliance for program accreditation. Serves as a liaison to clinic directors, community physicians, hospital administration, and other internal and external constituents. Promotes programs to the community and other stakeholders. Coordinates annual recruitment activities.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and (6) years of experience in healthcare profession advising or medical education programs; OR associate’s degree and four (4) years of experience in healthcare profession advising or medical education programs; OR bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in healthcare profession advising or medical education programs; OR master's degree and some experience in health care profession advising.


Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge/experience in graduate medical education programs. Working knowledge of standard office software applications, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with using and posting on various social media platforms. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Skill in organizing work to achieve department goals and objectives. Excellent public relations, customer service, and telephone etiquette skills. Ability to cope with stressful conditions. Ability to demonstrate tact, versatility, and adaptability. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative. Ability to work on multiple, ongoing projects, prioritize tasks, and meet stated deadlines. Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making. Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in higher education administration, health care management, or related field. Five (5) years of experience working with graduate medical education/residency programs.
