Job Summary: The Assistant Manager of Athletic Facilities assists with planning, organizing, coordinating, and inspecting maintenance and custodial services for highly utilized athletic buildings. Supports all academic, student, campus/community, and athletic events scheduled in these buildings through setup, take down, clean up, and custodial services for events and office spaces. Drives from site-to-site.


Additional Department Summary: Serves as a lead or assistant lead contact for daily activities in support of all academic, student, campus/community, and athletic events staged in assigned facilities. Plans and executes day-to-day activities, events set-up, take-down and cleanup, and custodial services during events. Coordinates with Athletic Department and other University organizations to determine scheduling for daily work activity, including events maintenance and service by trades personnel and contractors. Performs regular inspections of work performed by athletics facilities staff. Performs all essential managerial functions in the absence of the Manager of Athletics Facilities. Must drive from site to site.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of building maintenance experience; OR Associate's degree and six (6) years of building maintenance experience; OR Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of building maintenance experience; OR Master's degree and two (2) years of building maintenance experience. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have the ability to quickly understand all aspects of event staging and equipment. Must be able to work an irregular work schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to provide work leadership for a work group. Ability to respond to a broad and demanding customer base.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with NCAA athletic event equipment. Degree in management or athletic related field. Experience in a University athletic environment.
