Job Summary: The Finance and Operations Communications and Marketing Director identifies, develops, and implements strategic communication efforts and marketing strategies for the Division of Finance and Operations, under the supervision of the Vice President for Finance and Operations (VPFO). Crafts communications and manages websites, social media, newsletters, memos, activities, services, campaigns, and projects for Division departments and offices, except for emergency communications handled by the Director of Public Safety Communications. Serves as the Division’s primary liaison on communications and marketing-related matters with the Division of Strategic Communications. Coordinates and manages the Division’s web and social media presence. Assists in special projects and activities related to the strategic goals of the Division and the University.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of journalism, public relations, marketing, or communications experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of journalism, public relations, marketing, or communications experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills. Ability to think and plan strategically as part of a team. Ability to self-start with little supervision. Strong project management and organization skills. Ability to build and maintain websites. Working familiarity with social media platforms. Knowledge of AP style in written communications. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office products.
