Job Summary: The IT Project Manager II serves as an Office of Information Technology (OIT) liaison and mentor for OIT operational managers and project teams. Focuses on best practices for project management on both departmental and enterprise-wide IT projects. Manages medium, moderately complex, critical and non-critical IT projects requiring knowledge and demonstrated expertise in project management. Oversees, plans, and implements project plans. Provides feedback and mentorship for entry-level OIT project managers.
Additional Department Summary: Serves as an Office of Information Technology (OIT) liaison/mentor for OIT operational managers and project teams on best practices for project management on both departmental and enterprise-wide IT projects. Focuses on IT Projects for Construction. Reviews construction drawings. Manages project budgets, which includes obtaining estimates from multiple areas of the organization. Works with various vendors to coordinate installation. Verifies project charges with Construction Accounting in order to audit and close out projects.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree; OR bachelor's degree and two (2) years of IT project management experience; OR associate's degree and four (4) years of IT experience to include two (2) years of IT project management; OR High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of IT experience to include two (2) years of IT project management.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education and CAPM or PMP credential. Demonstrated formal project management training. Experience with construction projects.
