Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm


Job Summary: The Accounting Assistant II maintains accurate financial records. Provides accounting and bookkeeping support. Assists University staff in understanding industry standards, current laws, and university policy as it relates to the financial affairs of the University. Provides guidance and trains entry-level Accounting Assistants.


Additional Department Summary: Assists the Associate Dean for Culture and Success and the Director of College Financial Affairs in the Culverhouse College of Business to organize and coordinate the services that fall under the financial umbrella of the College. Assists with budget reporting and maintenance. Prepares financial paperwork to include ePAs, MDVs and DTAs. Assists with travel reimbursements, monthly account reconciliations, P-card reconciliations, room reservations, coordinating meetings, and purchasing supplies.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR associate's degree or higher.


Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft suite of office products. Ability to multi-task. Ability to be self-motivated. Ability to prioritize workflow and work with individuals at all levels. Ability to be customer and service oriented.
