Position Summary
The University of Alabama School of Law seeks qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director for Graduate Law and CLE Programs and Assistant Teaching Professor of Law in Residence. The successful candidate will provide leadership for Alabama CLE (continuing legal education), will develop and lead additional graduate law programming, and will hold a renewable faculty appointment that does not lead to tenure. The successful candidate will also teach courses in the JD program connected to their area of legal expertise or, alternatively, will teach courses in other degree programs that are developed according to curricular needs.

Detailed Position Information
The University of Alabama School of Law seeks qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director for Graduate Law and CLE Programs and Assistant Professor of Law in Residence. The successful candidate will provide leadership for Alabama CLE (continuing legal education), will develop and lead additional graduate law programming, and will hold a renewable faculty appointment that does not lead to tenure. The successful candidate will also teach courses in the JD program connected to their area of legal expertise or, alternatively, will teach courses in other degree programs that are developed according to curricular needs.

As the leader for Alabama CLE, the Executive Director will set strategy, supervise staff and programs, and serve as the primary visible contact with Alabama attorneys. As an entrepreneurial leader, the Executive Director will identify additional opportunities for nondegree or graduate degree programs at Alabama Law and then work with senior leadership to develop and launch programs.

This is a year-round (12-month) position. Appointment will be for a renewable faculty contract, which does not lead to tenure, for a period of three years. Salary and benefits will be nationally competitive. All applications are confidential to the extent permitted by state and federal law; the position will remain open until filled.

Minimum Qualifications
A juris doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school, substantial experience in professional management, and a demonstrated record of entrepreneurial leadership through development of new initiatives, programs, or businesses.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with budgeting, organizational, marketing, and change implementation skills. Prior teaching experience in some form is strongly preferred.
