Job Summary: The Office Assistant provides patient support at GastroCare, P.C. Prepares exam rooms for patients. Cleans table paper on exam table. Cleans whiteboard and ensures trash can remains closed. Starts patient services and enters chief complaints. Brings patient from waiting room to exam room. Confirms all medications are correct. Checks Medication Reconciliation button. Confirms all previous pertinent procedures/diagnostic tests (Imaging/EGD/Colonoscopy). Checks off all symptom boxes. Enter patients' height, weight, and vital signs (heart rate, temperature, O2 Sat and blood pressure). Confirms each room is clean and turn out the lights at the end of the day. Calls interviewing patients by asking for updated demographic and clinical information.
Additional Department Summary: See the work schedule below. The ideal candidate will be able to work at least 2 of the below times.
- Monday 8:00am to 12:00pm
- Tuesday 12:30pm to 4:00pm
- Thursday 12:30pm to 4:00pm
- Friday 8:00am to 12:00pm
Required Minimum Qualifications: Current Pre-Med, Pre-Nursing, or Biomedical Engineering student. Excellent typing skills. Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications: Medical experience.
