Job Summary: The Student Assistant supports the Crimson Tide Hospitality staff with premium seating areas at sporting events.
Additional Department Summary: Administers policies and procedures regarding admission, food and beverage, maintenance, and other premium area operations. Delivers the finest hospitality and service. Keeps supervisor informed of any issues relating to donor/employee safety and satisfaction while in assigned premium hospitality area. Prepares and manages premium areas on gamedays. Serves as a liaison between Skybox Holders/Club Members, the catering staff, and other UA Athletics. Establishes and maintains positive relations with donors and seat holders, game day staff, vendors, and university administration. Supports gameday workers and student workers. Prepares, organizes, and maintains gameday supplies and materials. Collaborates with internal stakeholders (Crimson Tide Foundation, sport oversights, Facilities, Athletics Business Office) regarding the day-to-day operations of the hospitality team to improve customer satisfaction and experience. Assists with the design of effective communication media including services guides, menu portfolios, web-based communication, newsletters, and other correspondence. Additional duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama student pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management, Sport Management, or related field.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong time management skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
