Job Summary: The Student Assistant supports the University of Alabama Undergraduate Admissions Office with the distribution and shipping of University materials for events, recruiters, and prospective students. Packages materials for shipment. Sorts and processes mail using the University’s shipping software. Organizes and reports inventory to ensure efficient stock management. Collaborates with other student employees to divide tasks and complete work effectively while maintaining clear and professional communication with supervisors. Runs errands. Additional duties as assigned.


Additional Department Summary: This position will provide the Student Assistant with valuable experience in logistics, teamwork, and administrative support within the Undergraduate Admissions office.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama undergraduate student. Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 40 lbs.


Skills and Knowledge: Basic computer skills. Good organizational skills. Attention to detail. Strong work ethic. Self-starter. Reliable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Team-player.


Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work during Summer 2025.


Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
