Job Summary: The Student Assistant supports various tasks within Athletics Information Technology systems. Enters service requests into ticketing software, updates open tickets upon task completion, and inputs data to facilitate the acquisition of goods and materials. Documents techniques and inventory within Athletic IT systems. Assists users with software and system access, resetting passwords, and restoring access to campus systems or software. Provides level one walk-up and phone support to end-users for technology issues. Assists with campus-wide technology problem-solving. Additional duties as assigned.

Additional Department Summary: The Student Assistant for Athletics Information Technology will work under the direct supervision of the Technology Operations Manager.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama undergraduate student. Ability to learn and adapt. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding a strong code of ethics. Meets Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, stretching, bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, and crawling.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent customer service and communication skills. Demonstrated professionalism and positive attitude. Ability to stay organized and keep records. Human relations and interpersonal skills. Practical knowledge of software applications, including Microsoft Office 365.

Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
