The CDC Grant Summer Support provides a mindful eating/nutrition program to 20 to 30 participants for 8 weeks - in person in two rural counties. Develops and videotapes the intervention activities that can sit on Alabama Life Research Institute's (ALRI) webpage. Tests educational messages for cultural appropriateness. Develops social media posts. Additional duties as assigned.
Event Assistant - Greek Assembly Hall - 522631
The Event Assistant works alongside the Greek Assembly Hall Building Manager to ensure that events are set up and ready to meet client’s expectations. Sets up and takes down tables and chairs based off the daily event sheet/calendar. Places tablecloths on tables. Provides customer service to students, clients, and visitors at the Greek Assembly Hall information desk. Answers questions via telephone and in person. Collects, logs, and stores lost and found items properly in the office. Maintains cleanliness and upholds standards. Communicates with housekeeping, building managers, and professional staff. Learns Greek Assembly Hall policies, procedures, and operations of the facility. Learns Greek Assembly Hall rules and job expectations. Knowledge of the different room orientations and equipment available. Learns basic emergency procedures. Maintains proper appearance and attire to represent the Greek Assembly Hall. Remains engaged in the guest traffic and refrains from wearing earbuds/headphones to distract from assisting guests. Maintains composure and professionalism. Additional duties as assigned.
HR/Events Student Assistant - Culverhouse Career Center - 522439
The HR/Events Student Assistant supports the Culverhouse Career Center staff and assists with event logistics. Reviews undergraduate student resumes and cover letters in-person and online. Provides walk-in hours for in-person resume and cover letter reviews as needed. Orders catering, sets-up rooms, and prints materials for student development programs. Works closely with Career Development staff to receive initial training and ongoing guidance. Supports Career Center staff and works with other student assistants and graduate assistants. Mover/Driver - Two Men and a Truck - 522548
The Mover/Driver provides exceptional customer service as they safely move, pack, and unpack customer’s belongings. Greets customer upon arrival at location. Makes a positive first impression (smile, handshake, positive attitude). Completes a walk-through of the premises. Works with a team of movers to load and unload moving truck. Completes paperwork and payment collection accurately. Drives and maneuvers box truck safely.
Preschool Teacher Assistant - Kiddie Kollege Preschool - 522539
The Preschool Teacher Assistant maintains a safe and supportive environment for young children at Kiddie Kollege Preschool. Assists teachers with carrying out lesson plans.
