Job Summary: The Computer Support Assistant assists in the day-to-day technical support of the CCIS Dean's Office. Supports technical needs of faculty/staff, college classroom audio/visual equipment, and college learning classrooms (labs).
Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama undergraduate student with a minimum of 2.25 cumulative GPA. Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Skills and Knowledge: Work knowledge of personal computers, data entry, and standard application software (Microsoft Office Applications, web browsers, etc.). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Studying Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Experience with Windows and Apple Operating Systems.
Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
