Job Summary: The Teacher engages with children and families in a program that focuses on developmentally appropriate practices. Talks with children in a developmentally appropriate way. Assists children as needed with tasks. Communicates well with co-teachers and supervisory staff regarding the day to day responsibilities. Establishes relationships with families at pick-up each day. Supervises children, meeting needs socially, emotionally, physically, and mentally. Maintains a healthy, safe environment with and for the children.
Additional Department Summary: Work schedules are built around classes to meet the needs of student academics.
- May and Fall 2025 - 2:00pm to 5:30pm
- June and July - part-time (up to 25 hours per week), full-time (up to 40 hours per week)
This position may be ongoing if schedule allows.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 18 years or older. Flexible schedule. 1 to 2 years of experience in group childcare. Ability to take initiative. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work afternoons in May and full-time or part-time during the summer.
Skills and Knowledge: Basic knowledge and understanding of of children birth to five years of age.
Preferred Qualifications: Studying child development, child life, or education. Experience with children birth to 5 years of age. Developmental knowledge of children birth to 5 years of age. CPR certified.
