Note to Applicants: Internship roles are paid positions that last one semester in length and require 120 hours to receive credit for RHM 467.


Job Summary: The Events & Facilities Operations Intern assists with managing Athletics facilities and gameday operations alongside the University of Alabama Athletics staff. Assists staff, fans, and officials to ensure successful event days.


Additional Department Summary: Conducts setup/teardown of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium for home football games. Assists with various Events & Facilities projects. Coordinates and communicates with internal athletics departments and contractors. Improves fan experience at Alabama Athletics events via running the Guest Services hotline. Assists Alabama Athletics staff with the enforcement of gameday policies & procedures, including emergency instructions and facility evacuations if the situation arises. Supports in the management of University Work Order systems. Completes weekly and monthly checks/reports to ensure facility maintenance standards. Aids part-time Event Staff for assigned areas. Adheres to the policies and conduct set forth by The University of Alabama, Alabama Athletics, the Southeastern Conference, and the NCAA. Additional duties as assigned.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Current full-time University of Alabama student. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Excellent communication skills. High level of professionalism. Ability to work all home football game days in the 2025 season. Ability to work nights, weekends, and University holidays. Ability to work 10 to 20 hours per week.


Skills and Knowledge: Excellent customer service skills. Problem solving, organizing, planning, and time management skills.


Preferred Qualifications: Majoring in Sports Management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe software. Passion for collegiate athletics and desire to pursue a career in sports. Basic understanding of SEC and NCAA rules and regulations.


Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
